Rice University Social Sciences Film

Rice University called on Limelight Films again this month to produce a film for the School of Social Sciences.  Production took place on campus over 2-days and featured faculty and students.  The School of Social Sciences at Rice focuses on how people think and act as individuals and in society and seek to uncover facts about the social world.  The project is currently in post-production and should be launched this summer.

Visiting My Alma Mater

This week I had the pleasure to travel back to my alma mater, Sam Houston State University to talk to the students in the film school there.  Nearly 60 Bearkats gathered in the Dan Rather Mass Communications building and they asked a lot of great questions about pre-production planning and how to increase your production value using sliders, gimbals and drones.  It was great meeting everyone and I always enjoy my trips to Huntsville when I visit SHSU.

Aerials for Noble Drilling

Noble Drilling Services called on Limelight Films to capture aerials of their rigs that are preparing to head out to the Gulf of Mexico.  The 4K footage was shot with our DJI Mavic Pro drone and production took place both in Port Aransas and Port Isabel, Texas.  You can check out some of the footage HERE on our Aerial Demo.
This month, Limelight Films was featured in Houston Remodeling magazine for a photoshoot we did for Devine Renovations.  The full-page spread showcased two homes in the Pearland, Tx area that Devine Renovations had completely remodeled the kitchen, living room and master bathroom.  Check out all the magazine photos here.

Limelight Films Takes Flight

Beginning this year, Limelight Films is excited to announce the addition of aerial drone cinematography to our service line.  As part of our objective to be able to "move" the camera more for our clients using motion control sliders and 3-axis gimbals, our new DJI Mavic Pro 4K drone is the perfect complimentary tool.  Limelight Films is a fully insured UAS operator and is in the process now of obtaining our FAA Pilots Certification.  Check out our new Aerial Demo to see what we can do for you.

NCAA Football TV Commercial

This month the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center has the Limelight crew back in Lubbock filming TV commercials.  The spots, featuring University President Ted Mitchell will be presented at Cowboy stadium when the Texas Tech University Red Raiders take on the Baylor University Bears at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

During most of August and September, the Limelight Films team traveled across west Texas to Lubbock, Amarillo, Abilene and Odessa.  These were our production locations on the campuses for
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.  We are producing four films that will be used to kick-off their $150M capital campaign "Your Life • Our Purpose" in November.

Voices For Children

Child Advocates of Fort Bend County called on the Limelight crew  to partner on a new fundraising film for their "Voices for Children" campaign.  The film tells the story of a 15 year old boy who, with the help of CAFB will enable him to be adopted by Christmas.  We shot numerous interviews with the CPS case workers, CASA volunteer and the boy's new adoptive parents.  Our goal is to bring an awareness of all the good CAFB is doing for children by providing a voice, healing their hurt and breaking the cycle of abuse.  The film will debut at an upcoming fundraising breakfast in September.

Limelight Films Awarded Campaign Project for TTUHSC

While on vacation this summer with my family cruising the Caribbean, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center called to inform me that Limelight Films had been awarded the video for their upcoming capital campaign.  Titled "Your Life • Our Purpose", the campaign is seeking to raise $150 Million to fund scholarships and new facilities at the University.  Production is expected to begin next month.

Limelight Films Wins Silver Telly Award

The Telly Awards has named Limelight Films as a Silver winner in the 37th Annual Telly Awards for their film titled, Rice University's Program In Jewish Studies.. With more than 13,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor.  "The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video," said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards.  Limelight Films' accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great filmmaking."  "We are very honored to be recognized among our peers within the filmmaking community. Never Let The Devil Lick The Sweet Off Your Candy!

Cinco Ranch Church of Christ called on Limelight Films this month to help them communicate a campaign message to their congregation.  The church has launched a Bible reading challenge called "Wise Up, 40 Days One On One with God".  The story for the 5-minute film was told through interviews with church members, discussing their passion for reading the word of God and the impact it has on their life.  Learn more about Limelight Films HERE.

Houston Methodist Patient Film

Lone Star Pictures partnered with Limelight Films to produce this film for Houston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Limelight's Ken Kosub was Director of Photography and Editor for the project. The video features Houston Methodist physician, Dr. Scott Rand who discusses his treatment for sports injuries on his patient Robynne who is a marathon runner.  Watch the video HERE!  You can learn more about Limelight Films HERE.

Sound Mixing At Audio Bob's

This month we found ourselves back at Audio Bob's mixing sound on a variety of projects for Rice University, Child Advocates of Ft. Bend County and Noble Drilling.  Bob's new studio is a pleasure to work in and sounds great too!  Check out Audio Bob's site HERE!

Divine Renovations Images

Divine Renovations called on Limelight Films to lens a series of photo shoots of their projects.  Traveling to Pearland, Texas, we shot several homes where Divine Renovations had completely remodeled the kitchen's and bathrooms.  They plan to use the images as part of their architectural awards submission package.  

On Campus At Rice University

This Fall Limelight Films teamed up with the Department of Religion at Rice University to produce a marketing film for the Jewish Studies program.  Location production took place on campus over 3-days to capture interviews and lifestyle shots.  Courses in Jewish Studies allow students to study Judaism as it has evolved from an ancient set of shared religious practices into the pluralistic religion and culture that it is today.  The film will be completed in early 2016.
